Fenton Win South Cheshire Shield

Fenton 3.5  Newcastle 0.5

Fenton have won the South Cheshire Shield at the first time of entering. A 3.5 - 0.5 win last night against closest rivals Newcastle gave them the trophy by a margin of 3 points. However, the score does not reflect the closeness of the match, with a couple of error strewn games that could have gone either way. With both teams having a team grade total of 459, just one below the maximum of 460, it was always going to be a hard fought match and so it turned out to be, but good fortune favoured Fenton on the night and Newcastle can consider themselves to be slightly unlucky.

All that is left to play for now is the wooden spoon. Alsager and Crewe 'B' are level at the bottom of the table with 2 points each and have to play each other twice for that particular honour.
