We have now started the 2nd week at Torquay and following Sunday's and this afternoon's matches the story so far is as follows :
Alex Richardson drew his 7th round match in the Championship and is now on 2.5/7. Malcolm Armstrong is doing marginally better. His first win of the tournament this afternoon puts him on 3/7.
Bill Armstrong won his 7th round match in the Major Open to move onto 3/7.
Colin Davison won his 3rd round match to lead the Senior Championship with 3 wins out of 3.
Carl Gartside lost his opening match in the U160 Championship but won his first match in this week's 5 Day Open. He also finished joint 7th in the Soanes U150 Weekender with 3/5, while Roger Walker was down in joint 32nd with 1.5/5.
Myself and Peter Windows played our first matches in the Senior U130 Championship this afternoon, with me winning and Peter losing.
Thivyaa Rahulin finished with 4.5/7 in the Under 9 Champioship - an excellent result that put her in joint 12th place out of 70 entries. She played her first match in the Under 10 Championship today but, unfortunately, lost against an opponent graded 44 points higher than her.
Jacob Boswell is currently sitting in joint 9th position in the Under 12 Championship with 2 wins and a loss from his first 3 matches.
