British Championships Come To An End

The 100th British Championships came to an end yesterday - apart from the prizegiving, which takes place this morning. This was the most successful event to date with a record number of over 1200 participants. Next year's Championships will be taking place at the University Of Aberystwyth.

Alex Richardson and Malcolm Armstrong both finished the Championship with 11th round wins, taking Alex on to 4/11 and Malcolm on to an excellent 5.5/11.

Colin Davison also finished the Senior Championship with a win to finish in 8th place with 4.5/6 - just a point behind the winner.

Bill Armstrong won his 11th round match in the Major Open to finish on 5/11.

Carl Gartside also won his final round match in the U160 Championship to finish on 2.5/5. As far as I can see, he didn't play his 5th round match in the 5 Day Open and so finished with just 1 point.

I lost my 5th round match in the U130 Senior Championship to finish in 5th place on 3/5. Peter Windows also lost his final match to finish on 1.5/5.

Jacob Boswell won his final match in the Under 12 Championship to finish in 6th place with 4.5/7.

Thivyaa Rahulin lost her last round match in the Under 10 Championship but still finished with a very creditable 4/7.
