Alex Richardson Breaks His Duck

After disappointing results in the 2nd and 3rd rounds of the British Championships, Alex Richardson broke his duck with a win in the 4th round yesterday. He is now drawn to play an opponent graded 67 points lower than him in the 5th round later today and will be hoping to continue in the same vein. After draws in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, Malcolm Armstrong was beaten in the 4th round but will be hoping to fare better in the 5th round where he is drawn against an opponent graded 197 points lower than him.

It was more disappointment for Bill Armstrong in the Major Open. A defeat in yesterday's 4th round leaves him on 1.5 points and down in joint 28th position.

Carl Gartside is also in joint 28th position in the U180 Championship following a defeat in yesterday's 4th round match. However, he is doing somewhat better in the 5 Day Open, where he is in joint 8th position with 2.5 points following a win in yesterday's 4th round match.

Jacob Boswell is in joint 4th position in the U13 Championship with 3 points from 5 matches.
