Bill Armstrong of Cheddleton completed an outstanding performance in the Major Open section at the British Championships with a last round win, lifting him to joint 5th position. 6 wins, 1 draw and 4 losses gave him a score of 6.5/11. Well done Bill.
Jacob Boswell of Cheddleton, playing in the U-12 Championship, was unable to emulate his excellent performance in last week's U-11 competition. 2 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses gave him a score of 3/7 and kept him in the lower half of the table. Nonetheless a creditable performance in a higher age group.
Craig Whitfield of Cheddleton, playing in the Championship proper, scored 3 wins, 3 draws and 5 losses for a total of 4.5/11 and a position just in the lower half of the table.
